Plate Story ("we," "us") lets visitors submit vanity license plate photos and stories for publication on this site. This page explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

When you submit a plate story, we store the plate text, state, story text, and the name you optionally provide. We do not require an account or email address to submit.

For spam and abuse prevention, we record a one-way salted hash of your IP address at submission time — never the raw IP itself. This hash cannot practically be reversed back into your IP address, and is used only for per-visitor rate limiting.

Cookies and advertising

This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Content review

Submissions are automatically screened for spam and prohibited content, and reviewed manually before publication. We may reject or remove any submission at our discretion.
